Native language
Very few people can master the art of translating into a language other than their own mother tongue. It is therefore preferable to work only with partners who translate into their native language. Anything else is second.

Reference material and final review
To ensure use of the correct terminology, the translator should be provided with relevant reference materials. But even with good references, it is vital that you as a client carry out final review and approval of the translation. For that reason, the price of the translation always includes a round of editing following your terminology check.

Contact person
A translator is greatly assisted by having access to a contact person with special expertise in the area in question.

Plenty of time
IThese days, time is in short supply. But there is no getting around the fact that the quality of job will be better if the translator is given adequate time to finish without rushing. Expressions and wordings sometimes need to “mature” and certain subject areas may require closer examination or research, which can take extra time. It’s a good idea to involve the translator at an early stage of the project in order to plan the due dates and workflow.
